Rise the flags of Finland!

Hi! Today, February 28, is the day of Kalevala and Finnish culture. Kalevala is the national epic of Finland, a compilation of epic poems gathered together by the national writer Elias Lönnrot in the early 1900's. The poems of Kalevala are stories of Finnish folklore and mythology.

We took a  stroll around the town of Nivala.

Winter frolics

14. - 16.2. 2014

We had a miniature "snowacation" in Rovaniemi that weekend!
It included sledding...

...and snowmobiling...

...and afterwards, warming up by the fireplace.

We also engaged into sauna bathing... and helped with heating the stove.

Hot chocolate was of course a must :)

We enjoyed every sip!
